USPTU is located near a beauty green park. The university campus is self-contained and compact enough to offer lecture halls, seminar rooms, laboratories, libraries, accommodation and sports facilities all within easy walking distance. There are 9 buildings, housing administrative offices and study rooms, 4 dormitories, an up-to-date sports complex, catering and household facilities.
The university prides itself on its sports and fitness complex which comprises a unique sports hall equipped with the latest facilities including a large electronic display panel. The sports hall is specially designed for holding local and international competitions. It also has its own hotel to receive sports delegations and accommodate competitors and other guests. Besides there are two more large multi-purpose sports halls, a well-equipped fitness room, a complex site for outdoor sports, a stadium with a 400-meter long running track and a football field, skiing and cycling lodges. There is also a Bath Studio, offering relaxing shower-baths, a solarium, treatments in massage and other therapies.
USPTU provides a diverse range of opportunities for students to participate in sport. Ranging from the traditional team sports such as football and basketball, USPTU students go in for volleyball and handball, badminton and table tennis, aerobics and swimming, Greco-Roman wrestling and weightlifting, cycling and boxing. The University women’s volleyball and men’s handball teams have participated in the championship of the Russian Federation among Major League teams. The USPTU women’s team on volleyball has been in the list of the first three prize-winners over the last few years.
Students are engaged in various amateur artistic groups, where international students are active members as well. In Youth Palace (which is one of the buildings of our university), mass cultural events are regularly held such as “Student Spring” festival, “Premier” and “Miss and Mister of USPTU” competitions.
Foreign students of our University are constant members of the Russian language contests and various folk holidays, in their turn they familiarize Russian students with their culture and traditions.
USPTU offers housing for all categories of students. Each faculty has its own dormitory, where Russian and foreign students stay together. It helps foreign students to study the Russian language. There are three basic types of university housing such as self-catering rooms with shared kitchens, bathrooms and other communal areas and self-catering apartments, mostly in units of 2 or 3 study-bedrooms with a shared kitchen and bathrooms. There are also self-contained apartments with bedrooms and kitchens in them. The kitchens have full kitchen facilities, but there are many places on campus to buy meals and snacks. The university offers several cafeterias and cafes on campus, where students can buy their meals at reasonable prices. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars to eat out nearby.
The university library is an essential resource for successful study. It contains over 1 000 000 volumes of educational, scientific, technical and reference literature. Much of the information is available in electronic version. An electronic catalogue encompasses over 60 000 publications.
USPTU has its own Educational, Scientific, Production and Recreation Center called SOLUNI which is located on the Pavlovskoye water storage, one of the most beautiful and scenic regions of the Republic of Bashkortostan. SOLUNI provides great opportunities for USPTU students to combine practical training with recreation during summer vacations. It offers lots of sports activities and entertainment. Every summer SOLUNI extends a warm welcome to the university students and staff members.
