Founded in 1969 as Faculty of Automation of Industrial Facilities.

Institute of Digital Systems, Automation and Energy (IT-Institute) provides the fuel and energy complex enterprises with highly qualified specialists in the field of automation of technical processes, electrical equipment, electric drives, and software.

Students receive in-depth knowledge in physics and mathematics, master the methods of information, control and regulation theory, obtain practical skills in the computer-aided modeling, design and development of computer systems and information technologies.

The Institute has modern training and research and methodological facilities. The laboratories display equipment and software from such well-known companies as Advantech, Rosemount, Moore, Yokogawa, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell.

To make it possible for the students to deeply master the core professional competencies, develop communication skills, as well as get involved in scientific activities, student scientific societies were organized in the following areas: "Electric Drive and Energy Saving", "Robotics Club", "Information Technologies", etc.
